Padyak Pinoy

Padyak Pinoy or Filipino Pedal is the official title of the Tour of the Philippines, a bicycle tour held during the hot and dry season (April-May) in the Philippines.

It's previous names included the Tour of Luzon, Marlboro Tour, Tour of Calabarzon (2002), Tour Pilipinas, before carrying the current name.

It's current corporate sponsor is Airfreight 2100, the official brand-carrier of FedEx and Air21, who has funded the tour since 2002. From 1979-1998, Marlboro was the carrying sponsor of the tour before backing out of the tour, resulting in the tour's stoppage for the next three years.

Travel Quotes:

We all become great explorers during our first few days in a new city, or a new love affair. Mignon McLaughlin

When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable. Clifton Fadiman

Desserts Food, Philippine Cuisine

As a tropical oriental country it should come as no surprise there are many treats made from rice and coconuts. One often seen dessert is bibingka, a hot rice cake optionally topped with a pat of butter, slices of kesong puti (white cheese), itlog na maalat (salted duck eggs), and sometimes grated coconut. There are also glutinous rice sweets called biko made with sugar, butter, and coconut milk.
